Research and Projects - The National Scoping Study on Overseas Trained Doctors / International medical Graduates
The National Scoping Study on Overseas Trained Doctors, 2003 has been conducted under the aegis of the Confederation of Postgraduate Medical Education Councils and supervised by a National Reference group. It has the following aims:
- Review current education, training and orientation programs that are available in each state to permanently resident overseas -trained doctors.
- Undertake a comprehensive review of existing resources relating to education, training, employment opportunities and ongoing support mechanisms within the workforce (where applicable) that are available in each state.
- Undertake a comprehensive literature review
- Prepare a report describing the findings of the review.
The Scoping Study has completed a comprehensive literature review, a national survey of stakeholders, and an analysis of relevant symposia. The final report has been released.
